She weighed 6.9 pounds and she was so beautiful. Just like her mum Hayley.
I saw Hayley change from a girl to a woman before my eyes as she radiated such bravery.
Everything in life is temporary and ever changing. I hope this piece of music can ease something somewhere inside.

Perfect She Was is Dean Ray’s most personal release to date.
Written for his daughter Evie, the song began as a private expression of grief rather than a planned release. Blending guitar-led blues-rock with country-rooted storytelling, it explores love, grief and the enduring bond between a parent and child.
Now shared publicly, the song is dedicated not only to Evie, but to families navigating pregnancy loss, stillbirth and grief.

“This song scares me. I was frightened to write it, and I still fear performing it because of the painful place it takes me every time.
It was never intended to be what it has become. It was simply a journal entry.
I’m grateful to Hayley and Josh for giving me the push to release the song in the hope it may help others through grief.
